Real Sociedad vs Levante

Real Sociedad and Levante are set to exchange tackles at the Reale Seguros Stadium in an exciting La Liga encounter.

Real Sociedad responded to a 4-2 away defeat to Barcelona on the opening weekend with a hard-fought 1-0 home triumph over promoted Rayo Vallecano last time out, courtesy of Mikel Oyarzabal’s second-half penalty. That victory has stretched Sociedad’s winning La Liga streak on home turf to four straight matches as they now look to clock up their longest winning run at home under current boss Jagoba Arrasate. The last time they enjoyed a longer such streak was in January 2014 (6 that time). Levante’s visit to the Reale Seguros Stadium comes in handy, with ‘La Real’ suffering just one loss in their last eight top-flight H2Hs here (W3, D4). But another success here might depend on Sociedad’s ability to improve upon a disappointing average of 1.00 goals scored per game across their previous three home H2Hs.

On the other hand, Levante’s new La Liga campaign has started with back-to-back draws, both of which saw the visitors on the day lead 1-0 at half-time. An underwhelming start – despite a thrilling 3-3 stalemate with Real Madrid last time out – has extended Levante’s winless streak in La Liga to ten games in a row (D5, L5). Notably, though, none of Levante’s 40 top-flight fixtures since the turn of the 2020/21 season have ended goalless. Away from home, the ‘Granotes’ have failed to win any of their last five La Liga matches (D2, L3), scoring under 1.5 goals four times in the process. There is a good omen here, as eight of Levante’s last 12 La Liga games, home and away, have seen the visitor on the day boast a half-time advantage.
