Bologna vs Hellas Verona

Bologna will be looking to keep two clean sheets on the trot for the first time since April 2019 when they lock horns with underperforming Hellas Verona at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

Seeking their first top-ten finish since 2018/19, Bologna have started their new Serie A campaign with four points from two matches (W1, D1), including a hard-earned 0-0 draw against Atalanta last time out. The ‘Rossoblu’ could go unbeaten in their first three league games for the second time in the last three Serie A campaigns as they take on a side they’ve not lost to in any of their previous three top-flight H2Hs at home (W2, D1). Although both Bologna’s wins in that three-match sequence yielded a clean sheet, that’s a sharp contrast to their recent defensive output at Renato Dall’Ara. Indeed, Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men have conceded 2+ goals in four consecutive home league outings and could equal the club’s worst-ever such streak in the competition.

Meanwhile, Hellas Verona have started their new top-flight campaign with a whimper rather than a bang, losing both opening Serie A fixtures by an aggregate score of 6-3. Lapses of concentration in the second half saw the ‘Gialloblu’ concede precisely twice beyond half-time in both league outings this term. A poor start to the season has seen Verona extend their winless run in Serie A to 11 straight matches (D4, L7), letting in over 1.5 goals in 54.55% of those games. Away from home, Eusebio Di Francesco’s men have gone winless in four league fixtures in a row (D1, L3) since beating Cagliari 2-0 in early April, frustratingly scoring under 1.5 goals on each occasion in that run.
