Torino vs AC Milan

Stadio Olimpico di Torino is the venue as Torino and table-topping AC Milna go head-to-head in a high-stakes Serie A fixture.

Mid-table Torino pulled off a narrow 1-0 win away to rock-bottom Salernitana last time out to bring a disastrous eight-game winless Serie A streak to a halt (D4, L4). Entertainment has been relatively sparse in Torino’s recent Serie A action, with three of their last four league outings seeing one or both sides fail to get on the scoresheet in matches garnering under 1.5 total goals. Seeking revenge for last season’s crushing 7-0 H2H defeat at this venue, the ‘Granata’ will be keen to record consecutive Serie A clean sheets for the first time since September. Yet, a frustrating four-game winless home league run (D2, L2) featuring zero clean sheets suggests otherwise. It’s also worth noting that Torino haven’t scored against Milan in their last five competitive H2Hs.

Meanwhile, AC Milan’s bid to win their first Scudetto since 2010/11 took a hit last time out as Bologna held them to a dismal goalless draw at San Siro, ending their run of three identical 1-0 league triumphs. With second-placed Napoli now just a point adrift, ‘I Rossoneri’ cannot afford another slip-up. Luckily for Stefano Pioli’s side, playing away from home has been their strong suit this season, as they’ve racked up a league-highest 73.33% win ratio in away league matches (11/15). Indeed, the majority (54%) of Milan’s Serie A points this season have come on the road, where they’ve only lost once in 15 matches thus far. But another scoring blank would see Pioli’s team go back-to-back Serie A games without finding the net for the first time since February 2021.
