After a 5-3 walloping of RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup, Julian Nagelsmann’s high-flyers thumped reigning Europa League holders Eintracht Frankfurt 6-1 in their Bundesliga curtian-raiser. Seeking an 11th successive league title, the ‘Bavarians’ head into this fixture with high expectations as they’ve never lost a competitive home match against visiting Wolfsburg (W27, D2). Moreover, they’ve won each of their last four top-flight H2Hs at the Allianz Arena by an aggregate score of 14-1. Delivering action from the get-go, Nagelsmann’s men have netted 3+ first-half goals in both competitive outings this term and were 4-0 up inside the opening 43 minutes at Frankfurt last time out. It promises to be a long day for the visitors.

After conceding 2+ goals in their last eight Bundesliga away matches against Bayern, Wolfsburg cannot hope for much here.
