Azerbaijan and Belarus will be looking to get off the mark in the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League Group C3 when they lock horns at the Dalga Arena.
It’s been a dreadful start to League C3 for Azerbaijan thus far. They have not only failed to win all three Nations League matches this term (D1, L2) but have drawn a blank on each occasion. After taking their winless international streak to 13 games (D3, L10), the ‘Milli komanda’ will be out to prove they are no pushovers. Undefeated in their last two H2Hs (W1, L1), including a goalless draw less than a fortnight ago, Azerbaijan will fancy their chances in Baku. But the Nations League has not been kind to Gianni De Biasi’s men as they head into proceedings after failing to get on the scoresheet in their last seven outings in the competition (D4, L3).
As for Belarus, a 1-1 home draw with Kazakhstan last time out maintained their winless start to League C3 (D2, L1). A lack of firepower up top has seen the visitors score just once in their three group stage fixtures. Topically, since the start of 2021, the ‘White Wings’ have failed to find the net in three of their five internationals held on foreign soil and score precisely once in the other two. Conceding first could prove detrimental to Belarus’ hopes of getting their 2022/23 Nations League campaign up and running. Since beating North Macedonia 2-1 in 2015, they have not come back to win a single game in which they shipped the opening goal. On the bright side, they’ve only lost one of their last six Nations League away matches, keeping three clean sheets in the process.
